Gleison Tibau to Fight Will Brooks in New Main Event of Battlefield FC 2

Battlefield Fighting Championship 2 was set to feature the likes of Will Brooks, Abel Trujillo and Bryan Caraway, among others.

According to journalist John Hyon Ko on Friday, however, Trujillo is out of the fight against Brooks, and fellow Ultimate Fighting Championship veteran Gleison Tibau will step in on short notice. Both Tibau and Brooks train out of American Top Team in Florida.

Tibau (34-14) got back into the win column last November at Golden Boy MMA, where he beat Efrain Escudero by decision. The win snapped his four-fight losing streak which coincided with his release from the Las Vegas-based promotion.

Brooks (20-4), meanwhile, fought in the Professional Fighters League in the 2018 season, where he went 2-0 before a draw in the playoffs that allowed his opponent to advance. The Bellator MMA and UFC alum holds notable wins over names including Michael Chandler, Saad Awad and Ross Pearson, among others.

Battlefield FC 2 will go down on July 27 at the Cotai Central Kashgar Grand Ballroom at the Sheraton Grand Macao Hotel in Macau, China, where Tibau vs. Brooks will serve as the main event.
