Hunt took on Oleynik last weekend and despite landing a brutal leg kick that had the Russian limping around the Octagon, he couldn’t capitalize on his injury. Oleynik took Hunt down and forced him to tap out to a rear-naked choke late in the first round. After the fight, Hunt cut a dejected figure and said he’d like one last fight inside the Octagon and mentioned the card in Adelaide, South Australia in December.
UFC light heavyweight and 2008 K-1 Grand Prix champion Gökhan Saki reached out to the “Super Samoan” on Twitter, asking fans if they’d be keen to see the pair of former K-1 champions square off.
Hunt responded in kind, agreeing to the bout and tagging UFC matchmaker Mick Maynard into the conversation for good measure .
Let’s bang then @gokhantherebel #UFCAdelaide @Mickmaynard2 @ufc

Considering that most of Hunt's setbacks during his improbable UFC run have come courtesy of fighters who took him down and exploited his deficiencies on the mat, the invitation from a fellow kickboxer to "stand and bang" was probably an attractive one. The UFC, generally fond of fighters making their own matches via public call-out, is likely to see Hunt-Saki as a fan-friendly matchup and appropriate send-off for the 44 year-old Hunt.
UFC Adelaide takes place on Dec. 2 from the Adelaide Entertainment Centre in South Australia and already has a heavyweight headliner between another Australian, Tai Tuivasa, and former heavyweight champion Junior dos Santos.
