Heavyweights Alistair Overeem, Walt Harris to Headline UFC on ESPN 7 in Washington, D.C.

A heavyweight clash between Alistair Overeem and Walt Harris will serve as the headliner for UFC on ESPN 7.

ESPN.com was first to report the booking. UFC on ESPN 7 takes place at Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C., and will also see Stefan Struve meet Ben Rothwell in another heavyweight matchup.

A former Strikeforce champion and UFC title challenger, Overeem enters the bout on the strength of back-to-back first round finishes of Sergei Pavlovich and Alexey Oleynik. “The Reem” is 10-6 during a promotional tenure that includes victories against Fabricio Werdum, Mark Hunt, Junior dos Santos, Roy Nelson, Andrei Arlovski and Brock Lesnar, to name a few.

After some struggles early in his UFC tenure, Harris appears to have hit his stride in the past couple years. “The Big Ticket” is unbeaten in his last four Octagon appearances, including a 12-second knockout of Alexey Oleynik in his most recent bout at UFC on ESPN 4.
