Derrick Lewis will look to earn his most significant Octagon triumph to date when he faces Travis Browne at UFC 208.
ESPN.com first reported the heavyweight pairing. UFC 208 takes place at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn and will see Holly Holm face Germaine de Randamie for the inaugural women’s featherweight strap.
Lewis enters the matchup on a five-fight winning streak that includes victories over Octagon staples such as Roy Nelson and Gabriel Gonzaga. Most recently, “The Black Beast” rallied for a fourth-round technical knockout victory against Shamil Abdurakhimov at UFC Fight Night 102.
Once considered a top contender in the division, Browne has some work to do after losing three of his last four bouts. Since 2015, the 6-foot-7 Hawaiian’s only win was a contentious stoppage of Matt Mitrione at UFC Fight Night 81. “Hapa” has otherwise fallen short against top-notch competition, losing to Fabricio Werdum, Cain Velasquez and Andrei Arlovski during that time.
