Henry Cejudo Shares Alleged Insider Information About Sean O’Malley’s Fight Camp

Henry Cejudo claims to have heard about Sean O'Malley’s training camp from multiple sources.

O’Malley puts his bantamweight title on the line against Merab Dvalishvili in the main event of UFC 306 at the Sphere in Las Vegas this Saturday. Just days out from fight night, “Sugar” crashed Cejudo’s podcast with Kamaru Usman for about 20 seconds to praise “The Nigerian Nightmare” and roast “Triple C” for being easily taken down by Aljamain Sterling.

Cejudo is now plotting a matchup against O’Malley if the latter gets dethroned by Dvalishvili at UFC 306, which the Olympic gold medalist has reason to believe will happen. While the former flyweight champ is already planning a move back down to 125 pounds, he’ll stick around at bantamweight for the potential O’Malley fight.

“Once [O’Malley] loses to Merab, I think the next fight that’s up is me and him,” Cejudo said on the Pound 4 Pound show. “I know that Merab is going to get this win. I know a little bit of O’Malley’s fight camp and how it’s been going… I hoping this motherf—-er loses. Because now there’s a showdown between me and him. And we could settle it the best way, and that’s fighting… And I am planning on going to flyweight… I started my diet, I’m gonna do everything right. But there’s one fight… I think the fight between me and ‘Sean O’Smelly Ronald McDonald’ makes a lot of sense too.”

Cejudo’s Fight Ready camp and the MMA Lab, where O’Malley trains, are both located i Arizona. Cejudo claims to have heard from multiple sources that O’Malley is having trouble getting off his back on the ground. The former double champ expects Dvalishvili to take over if he can endure O’Malley’s onslaught for the first two rounds.

“But that being said, he doesn’t know how to get off of bottom. I’ve had three training partners that have gone out there, that have all told me the same s—t,” Cejudo said. “That’s what happens when you live in the same city, is people know other people that will say s—t. But that that being said I think it’s a match made in heaven for a guy like Merab. He just needs to be careful in those two rounds. As the fight goes on I can see Merab Dvalishvili f—-ing taking him out.”

Cejudo abruptly retired in 2020, vacating his bantamweight title. “The Messenger” returned to action at bantamweight last year, where he has suffered consecutive decision losses against Sterling and Dvalishvili.
