Horn Predicts 'Punishing' Win For IFC Event in Ohio

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Jeremy Horn
is mad and he isn't going to take it anymore. The world's No.
1-ranked middleweight (185 pounds) mixed martial arts fighter says
future opponents are going to get a new version of his fighting
style.
"I'm tired of fighters trying to make a name off of me... I'm not a stepping stone for anybody," Horn said. "From now on, if you choose to fight me, I'm going to make you pay... I'm tired of hearing how nice I am and that people will fight me because I'll beat them, but not punish them. I will not be the nice guy in the cage. Not anymore."
Horn's next opponent will be Aitor Canup in the main event of
IFC Caged Combat, which is scheduled for Saturday, May 21, at
Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio.
Tickets start at $25 for the 11-bout event and are on sale now at the Nationwide Arena Ticket Office and through Ticketmaster.
In Horn's last bout, he submitted Josh Burkman of Portland, Ore., in only 74 seconds, leaving his opponent unconscious on the mat.
The second championship bout pits local favorite Josh Hendricks (7-4), a two-time All-American at Ashland University, against an opponent to be named later for the ISKA-MMA heavyweight title. Andy Montana, the original opponent, is out with an injury.
In a women’s bout, Jennifer Howe (12-2) of Salt Lake City, Utah, the former No. 1-ranked women's fighter in the world, faces Dayton's own Jennifer Fields.
To round out the card, there will be a team competition pitting a squad of Ohio's best fighters against a team of all-stars from across the United States.
