The flyweight was removed from his proposed UFC 208 clash against Jarred Brooks due to illness, the promotion announced Saturday. According to a statement, McCall was “transported to a local hospital with gastrointestinal issues and was pulled from the card on the doctor’s recommendation.” Champions.co first reported McCall’s withdrawal.

UFC 208 will proceed with 10 bouts. The event takes place at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn and is headlined by a showdown between Holly Holm and Germaine de Randamie for the inaugural women’s featherweight title. McCall vs. Brooks was scheduled for the Fox Sports 1 televised prelims.

McCall last competed at UFC 183 on Jan. 31, 2015, when he lost a unanimous decision to John Lineker. Since then he has pulled out of proposed bouts vs. Neil Seery (illness) and Dustin Ortiz (injury), while losing prospective foes Ray Borg at UFC 203 due to illness and Justin Scoggins to weight cut issues.
