Inaugural Women’s Title Bout Added to Combate Americas Pay-Per-View Card on Dec. 7

The first-ever women’s title bout held under the Combate Americas banner will take place on the promotion’s upcoming pay-per-view card.

Melissa Martinez will square off against Desiree Yanez for the inaugural strawweight title on Dec. 7 at Payne Arena in McAllen, Texas, the organization announced Tuesday. Combate Americas “Tito vs. Alberto” card airs on pay-per-view for $39.99 and is headlined by a clash between former UFC champion Tito Ortiz and ex-professional wrestling star Alberto Rodriguez. The event will also include a include a women’s 118-pound catchweight bout pitting Lucha Underground champion Dulce Garcia and Marisol Ruelas.

A native of Mexico City, Martinez is unbeaten in six professional appearances, with five of those triumphs coming with Combate Americas. Most recently, Martinez earned a second-round TKO of Caroline Gallardo Reinoso at Combate 36 “Reinas” on April 26.

Yanez owns a 4-1 mark and is coming off a submission of Paulina Vargas at Combate 40. The American also went 1-1 during a brief stint with Legacy Fighting Alliance in 2018.
