Injury Forces Bobby Green Out of Scheduled UFC 222 Bout Against Beneil Dariush

By Tristen Critchfield Feb 14, 2018

An undisclosed injury has forced Bobby Green to withdraw from a proposed lightweight bout with Beneil Dariush at UFC 222.

Multiple outlets have confirmed Green’s exit following an initial report by Farah Hannoun via Twitter. It is currently unclear if Dariush will remain on the card against a replacement opponent.

UFC 222 takes place at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on March 3 and is headlined by a featherweight championship clash between Cristiane Justino and Yana Kunitskaya. In the co-main event, Frankie Edgar will square off against Brian Ortega.

Green was looking to make a quick turnaround following a unanimous decision triumph over UFC on Fox 27 on Jan. 27. “King” had been winless in his previous four UFC bouts prior to defeating Koch.
