The worst-case scenario has come true for Carlos Condit.

Trainer Greg Jackson confirmed to UFC Tonight on Wednesday that the welterweight suffered a torn ACL and partially torn meniscus during his loss to Tyron Woodley at UFC 171. An initial examination of “The Natural Born Killer” immediately following the fight revealed similar results, but nothing was certain until Condit underwent an MRI this week.

At the moment it is unclear how long Condit will be on the shelf, although rehabilitation from a torn ACL is usually a lengthy process. The former WEC and interim UFC welterweight champion, Condit has lost three of his last four bouts inside the Octagon.
