Invicta Fighting Championships has been forced to alter the lineup for its September card after losing the previously announced main event.
Evinger, 34, captured the title on July 9 with a dominant performance against Irene Aldana which led to a fourth-round ground-and-pound stoppage. Currently riding the longest winning streak of her nine-year career, the Missouri native has bested her last seven opponents, finishing three via submission and two via knockout.
Eleven years the junior of her opponent, Sweden’s Kianzad has run up an 8-0 record in three years as a professional. “Sexy Scramble” made her Invicta debut last month, when she earned a unanimous decision over Australian Jessica-Rose Clark.
Invicta also announced the full, 10-fight lineup for the Sept. 12 card, which will stream live on UFC Fight Pass from Municipal Auditorium in Kansas City, Kan. The show’s co-main event will see former strawweight ace Katja Kankaanpaa attempt to get back on track against undefeated DeAnna Bennett.
