Invicta FC 14 Weigh-in Results: Evinger-Kianzad Main Event Changed to Non-Title Bout
Invicta Fighting Championships’ 14th event will no longer be headlined by a bantamweight title fight.
Defending champion Tonya Evinger and unbeaten challenger Pannie Kianzad both missed weight on their first attempts Friday at the official weigh-in, prompting the organization to change the main event to a five-round non-title affair. The show takes place Saturday at Municipal Auditorium in Kansas City, Mo., and streams live on UFC Fight Pass.

Evinger will be fined 20 percent of her purse for missing weight on her first trip to the scale. Kianzad, who elected not to cut any additional weight, will have her purse docked by 25 percent.
The co-featured duo of Katja
Kankaanpaa and DeAnna
Bennett had trouble making the strawweight limit for their
encounter as well. Bennett, the unbeaten Utah fighter, looked
stressed as she approached the scale and weighed in at 117.4
pounds. Finland’s Kankaanpaa, who is looking to bounce back from a
title loss to Livia
Renata Souza in April, was able to make weight as she clocked
in at 115.6 pounds.
Roxanne Modafferi, who appeared onstage dressed as Kitana from “Mortal Kombat,” easily weighed in at 124.9, making the flyweight limit with little trouble. Her opponent, Brazil’s Mariana Morais, barely made the limit as she came in at 125.9 pounds.
