Invicta Fighting Championships officials announced Wednesday that the all-female promotion will hold its seventh event this coming December.
“Dec. 7, Invicta 7 is set,” Herrig wrote on Twitter. “Guess who will be fighting on that card?”
Herrig, 29, has won four straight fights and signed with Invicta last month after the Bellator shuttered the doors on its women’s division. “Lil Bulldog” posted back-to-back victories to end her Bellator run, scoring a unanimous decision win over Patricia Vidonic this past December before taking a split verdict from Heather Clark on March 28.
Invicta held its most recent event on July 13, when Cris Justino scored a fourth-round technical knockout victory over former Strikeforce rival Marloes Coenen in the Invicta FC 6 main event. The show, which took place at the Ameristar Casino Hotel in Kansas City, Mo., also saw unbeaten Brazilian prospect Claudia Gadelha post a third-round TKO over previously undefeated Jewels champion Ayaka Hamasaki, while 19-year-old Japanese prospect Mizuki Inoue put forth a breakthrough performance against former strawweight title contender Bec Hyatt.
