An intriguing light heavyweight bout between Ion Cutelaba (14-4, 1 NC) and Khalil Rountree (8-3, 1 NC) is set to go down at UFC Copenhagen. The promotion announced this news on Friday, and the two men will face one another at the Royal Arena in Copenhagen, Denmark, on Sept. 28.
Cutelaba is looking to bounce back from a submission loss to Glover Teixeira at UFC Fort Lauderdale in April. Before that, he was on a two-fight winning streak with knockouts over Gadzhimurad Antigulov and Henrique da Silva . The 25-year-old is 3-3 in the Octagon after debuting back in 2016.
Rountree, meanwhile, got back into the win column in a big way in his last time out. At UFC 236, he beat Eryk Anders by dominant decision, dropping the former college football star four times in the second round and tying the UFC record for the most knockdowns in a round. Before the big win over "Ya Boi," the 29-year-old had mixed results inside the Octagon as he went 3-2 with one no-contest.
UFC Copenhagen will take place on Sept. 28, with the main event a middleweight bout between Jared Cannonier and Jack Hermansson.
