Bodybuilder and social media sensation Sajad Gharibi, or as he’s better known, the “Iranian Hulk,” is set to make his much-hyped debut for the BareKnuckle Fighting Championship in 2020 as part of a show titled “USA vs. Iran: World War III.”

BKFC ran a promotion at the conclusion of the BKFC 9 preliminary broadcast, which was held last Saturday, to reveal its biggest signing ever, both literally and figuratively speaking.

Gharibi, 27, is a popular bodybuilder from Iran, although it’s his muscle volume for a man standing only 6-foot-1 that has garnered worldwide notoriety.

The “Iranian Hulk” has shown interest in the past about getting into professional combat sports and last year was rumored to be fighting another physical specimen in Polish bodybuilder Martyn Ford (via MMAFighting.com):

“This guy’s going to make his Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship debut in early 2020,” BKFC’s David Feldman said. “We’re going to do a show entitled ‘USA vs. Iran: World War III.’ He’s literally our biggest signing we’ve ever had. But he’s going to make his way over to Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship, he’s gonna make a home here, and we expect really, really big things from ‘The Iranian Hulk.’”

Feldman concluded that the promotion doesn’t yet have an opponent in mind for Gharibi’s debut, but said this will be determined through a tryout process. Advertisement
