The main event saw Marko Kovacevic facing Jack Cartwright in the finale of the tournament. Kovacevic gained the access to the finale after besting Josh Reed via unanimous decision earlier in the evening. Starting as the underdog, Cartwright made a huge statement, smashing Scott Malone in just 49 seconds in the first stanza of their semi-finale encounter. Cartwright repeated himself in the finale: as soon as he started landing his vicious combinations, he sent his opponent to the ground. The referee was forced to call a stop to the contest at the 3:31 mark of the opening round.
In the co-main event, Frenchman Mehdi Ben Lakhdhar (4-0-1) locked horns with Joe McColgan (5-2-1) in a 155-pound contest. Both contenders went back and forth throughout the match, but it seemed that it was McColgan who came out better as time went by, connecting with his vicious right overhand a few times. In the third, Ben Lakhdhar came out strong and dropped his opponent to the ground with a left, though he failed to finish him. After three rounds, the contest ended in a majority draw, with only one of the judges giving the victory to Ben Lakhdhar.
In other main card action, Denmark’s Louis Glismann (6-1) submitted Ultimate Fighting Championship veteran Craig White at the 3:18 mark of the first round; Tom Mearns (6-2) defeated Decky McAleenan via split decision; and in the first bout of the main card, Ian Garry (2-0) crushed Italy’s Matteo Ceglia via TKO in the second stanza.
