Keith Jardine will be back in action as a Strikeforce middleweight on Jan. 7, Sherdog.com confirmed with a source close to the fighter on Thursday.
Jardine, 36, made his Strikeforce debut in April, fighting Gegard Mousasi to a majority draw at Strikeforce “Diaz vs. Daley.” The Jackson’s MMA representative competed in the UFC as a light heavyweight from 2005 to 2010, posting a 6-7 record during his time in the Octagon.
Though Jardine began his UFC career 6-3, he would lose four straight before being released by the promotion last summer. Following a split-decision defeat at the hands of fellow UFC vet Trevor Prangley, Jardine returned to his winning ways in December 2010, outpointing Francisco France at "Nemesis Fighting -- MMA Global Invasion" before kicking off 2011 with a technical knockout over Aron Lofton in March.
