“The Monkey God” may be one to watch in One Championship’s 125-pound division.
The second frame began similarly to the first, with Brooks scoring a double-leg takedown shortly after testing his standup. The American worked from his opponent’s guard and landed some elbows, forcing Adiwang to scramble. When the fighter out of the Philippines burst back to his feet once more, Brooks snatched hold of a guillotine choke. Adiwang managed to escape from the submission attempt, and he went on to land some illegal low blows shortly after the midpoint of the round. After recovering from the shots, Brooks took his opponent down again with relative ease. This time, there was no getting back up for Adiwang. Looking to finish the job, Brooks snared Adiwang during a scramble with a tight arm-triangle choke. Adiwang surrendered at 3:07 of Round 2, and Brooks’ impressive victory over One’s fifth-ranked Adiwang firmly announced his arrival to the remainder of the division.

In the co-main event, former bantamweight kickboxing kingpin Alaverdi Ramazanov bounced back from his championship loss with a first-round KO victory over Pongsiri PK. Saenchaimuaythaigym. The 5-foot-11 Russian came in with a significant height and reach advantage, and he used it effectively from the early going. Pongsiri was never able to get his distance, while Ramazanov found his range and stunned Pongsiri with a two-piece combination. Sending he had his foe on the proverbial ropes, “Babyface Killer” immediately followed with a powerful uppercut that removed Pongsiri of his faculties. Although he tried to gather himself, the Thai stumbled, dropped to his knees and collapsed against the cage. The referee called the official end of the One bantamweight (145 pounds) contest at 2:39 in the opening frame.
Elsewhere, former One strawweight titleholder Alex Silva (11-6, 10-6 One) replicated the result he scored the first time he faced Rene Catalan (6-5, 1 NC; 6-5, 1 NC One) as he submitted his opponent with an armbar at the 3:35 mark in the opening stanza; Panpayak Jitmuangnon upended Daniel Puertas via unanimous decision in their One flyweight kickboxing battle; Ruslan Emilbek Uulu (13-1, 1-1 One) took a unanimous decision over Pieter Buist (16-6, 3-2 One) at One’s lightweight division; Felipe Lobo outpointed Rodlek PK.Saenchai Muaythaigym on all three scorecards in their bantamweight kickboxing card opener.
