Jason Knight Withdraws from BKFC 7 Main Event Bout vs. Leonard Garcia

Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship 7 has taken a hit.

The main even was originally expected to pit Jason Knight against fellow UFC veteran Leonard Garcia, but “The Kid” announced on social media he has been forced to withdraw from the event.

“I suffered a pretty bad rib injury a few weeks back , I'm sorry to announce it, but I wont be fighting at Bare Knuckle 7 in August.... sorry if I let anyone down!!,” Knight wrote on Twitter.

Knight was coming off of a decision loss to Artem Lobov at BKFC 5 in his promotional debut. Before that, he was on a four-fight losing streak in the UFC and was cut after his loss to Jordan Rinaldi at UFC 230.

Garcia, meanwhile, fought at BKFC 4 and knocked out Julian Lane. He will now face Jim Alers, a UFC veteran who lost to Jason Knight during his tenure with the Las Vegas-based promotion.

BKFC 7 goes down on Aug. 10 from Biloxi, Miss.
