Over the weekend, former Invicta FC standout Livia Renata Souza was forced to pull out of her Octagon debut against Jessica Aguilar at UFC Fight Night 126 due to a hand injury.

While the promotion confirmed Souza’s withdrawal from the card, Aguilar remained present on the lineup, against an opponent to be determined. However, according to a report from MMAFighting.com, Aguilar will no longer compete at the event after the UFC was unable to secure a replacement foe for the American Top Team representative.

According to the report, the Las Vegas-based organization is hoping to rebook the bout for either UFC on Fox 28 in Orlando Feb. 24 or UFC 222 in Las Vegas on March 3. The UFC has not yet formally announced the cancellation.

Meanwhile, UFC Fight Night 126 will proceed with 12 bouts. The event takes place on Sunday at the Frank Erwin Center in Austin, Texas, and is headlined by a welterweight showdown between Donald Cerrone and Yancy Medeiros. The card will be televised on Fox Sports 1 following early prelims on UFC Fight Pass.

A former World Series of Fighting titlist, Aguilar is looking for her first UFC triumph after dropping decisions to Cortney Casey-Sanchez and Claudia Gadelha in her first two appearances. Souza, a former Invicta champion, is 11-1 over the course of her career, with her lone defeat coming at the hands of Angela Hill.
