One of the UFC’s top Chinese fighters will return to the Octagon in his home country. At UFC Shenzhen on Aug. 31, welterweight Jingliang Li will take on Elizeu Zaleski dos Santos, according to Combate.
Li last fought in November at UFC Beijing ,where he knocked out David Zawada in the third round via a body kick. He was originally set to fight dos Santos on that card before the Brazilian withdrew due to an injury. Before that Zawada win, “The Leech”beat Daichi Abe by decision to get back into the win column after losing to Jake Matthews at UFC 221. The 31-year-old has been in the UFC since 2014 and complied an 8-3 record with wins over Dhiego Lima, Frank Camacho and Zak Ottow among others.
Dos Santos, meanwhile, is on a seven-fight winning streak with his latest victory coming at UFC Wichita, where he submitted Curtis Millender in the first round. During his winning streak he has beaten Max Griffin, Lyman Good, Omari Akhmedov,and Sean Strickland, among others.
UFC Shenzhen is headlined by a strawweight title fight between Jessica Andrade and Weili Zhang.
