While Conor McGregor continues to push for a rematch against lightweight kingpin Khabib Nurmagomedov, Ultimate Fighting Championship color commentator Joe Rogan maintains that one of the main dynamics of their first matchup is unlikely to change.

During a recent episode of the “Joe Rogan Experience” podcast, Rogan said no matter how much McGregor trains he’ll never be able to hang with the wrestling of Nurmagomedov.
“He’s always going to have a problem with Khabib. Khabib’s wrestling is so high-level, it’s so different, he smothers you in a way that you think you have good takedown defense until you run into that mother-----.”
Nurmagomedov is rumored to be fighting the interim lightweight champion Dustin Poirier next in a title unification bout at UFC 242 in Abu Dhabi. McGregor, on the other hand, is scheduled to have a meeting with UFC president Dana White in Los Angeles to discuss his fighting future after their meeting before UFC Fort Lauderdale fell through.
