John Lineker Out of UFC Greenville Co-Main Event Against Rob Font

UFC Greenville’s co-main event will not go on as John Lineker is out of his scheduled bout against Rob Font. The news was first reported by MMA Junkie.

According to Lineker’s manager, “Hands of Stone” was working out when he suffered a cut above his eyebrow and had to pull out of the fight. The Brazilian took this fight on short notice after Font’s original opponent, Cody Stamann, had to withdraw due to an injury. The Brazilian was looking to get back into the win column after losing to Cory Sandhagen at UFC Fort Lauderdale.

Font, meanwhile, was coming off of a decision win over Sergio Pettis back in December and was looking to extend his winning streak to two.

Lineker and Font previously met back in 2016 at UFC 198, with Lineker winning by decision.

There is no word yet on whether a replacement opponent will be found for Font, or if another bout will be elevated to the co-main event.
