John Lineker and Rob Font will square off for a second time at UFC Greenville on June 22.
The Las Vegas-based promotion confirmed the bantamweight pairing on Wednesday. Font was initially scheduled to face Cody Stamann on the card, but a reason for Stamann’s exit was not given. UFC Fight Night 154 takes place at Bon Secours Wellness Arena in Greenville, S.C., and is headlined by a featherweight scrap between Renato Carneiro and Chan Sung Jung. The main card will air on ESPN+ following prelims on ESPN2.
Lineker took a unanimous decision over Font in their first meeting at UFC 198 in May 2016. “Hands of Stone” is coming off a split-decision defeat to Cory Sandhagen at UFC Fight Night 150 on April 27. The Brazilian recently expressed displeasure with his infrequent fight schedule, telling the UFC “If you don’t like me or my style just let me go.”
Font, meanwhile, will be making his first appearance of the year after a 2-1 campaign in 2018. Most recently, the 31-year-old welcomed Sergio Pettis back to 135 pounds at UFC on Fox 31, defeating the Roufusport product via unanimous decision on Dec. 15.
