John Teixeira da Conceicao will attempt to halt a three-bout skid when he squares off against Kevin Croom at Bellator 218.
Sherdog.com confirmed the featherweight booking with a promotion official on Monday following an initial report from MMAFighting.com. Bellator 218 takes place in Thackerville, Okla., on March 22 and is headlined by a 145-pound clash between Emmanuel Sanchez and Georgi Karakhanyan.
After kicking off his Bellator tenure with four consecutive triumphs, Teixeira has dropped successive bouts against Daniel Weichel, Pat Curran and A.J. McKee. The one-time UFC competitor is 22-4-2 over the course of a pro career that began in 2007.
Croom, 31, has gone 1-2 under the Legacy Fighting Alliance banner in his last three bouts. Most recently, “The Hard-Hitting Hillbilly” was submitted by Kamuela Kirk in the opening stanza at LFA 53. Croom has compiled an 18-11 career mark while competing for numerous organizations, including LFA, CES MMA and Titan FC.
