Jon Jones Chimes In on Daniel Cormier’s Twitter Battle with Alexander Gustafsson

Last week it was reported that Ultimate Fighting Championship light heavyweight contender Alexander Gustafsson had signed a new lucrative contract with the UFC.

As has been norm in the last few months for Gustafsson, he took to Twitter to announce his new contract before taking a swipe at the champion Daniel Cormier, who recently announced that he would be retiring in the near future.

The 31 year-old Swede went five hard rounds with the current champion back in 2015, losing the championship fight by split decision. His tweet certainly didn’t go unnoticed as “DC” quickly fired back a stinging reply to the “The Mauler.”

The loss Cormier is referring to is Gustafson’s other five-round war with the former light heavyweight champion Jon Jones. The two fought back in 2013, with Jones emerging victorious after the fight via unanimous decision.

The feud between Cormier and Jones is well-documented, but even Jones appeared to agree with Cormier on his summation of Gustafsson.
