Jordan Bailey and his magnificent mullet made the most of his short-notice Cage Warriors Fighting Championship main event in San Diego.

The CW 139 headlining bout on Friday that saw Bailey taking on Bellator MMA alum Alex Trinidad concluded in a mere 42 seconds. Trinidad (5-4, 0-2 CW) showcased a well-executed uchi mata throw straight away, but Bailey (7-5, 1-1 CW) jumped back to his feet within seconds. “The Ice Cream Man” pushed his adversary against the fence before shooting for a single-leg takedown. In doing so, he exposed his neck to Bailey’s guillotine choke attempt, which became tighter and tighter as the two fighters went down to the canvas. When Bailey’s squeeze became too much to handle, Trinidad couldn’t help but tap, only to pass out as referee Mike Beltran sprinted towards them to intervene.

After Cesar Gonzalez ships a big knee, the referee stops the fight on the advice of the ringside physician and it's a TKO win for Jamey Lynch.

The co-headliner featured a 160-pound catchweight affair between James Lynch and Cesar Gonzalez. Gamebred Training Center standout Lynch (5-2, 3-1 CW) rushed to attack his foe right out of the gate, only to land a nasty low blow due to his recklessness. After Gonzalez (4-5, 1-1 CW) recovered from the shot, Lynch focused his energy on more precise punches that stunned his opponent on a couple of occasions. When “Cubby” shot for a takedown, Lynch blocked the attempt and retaliated with knees to the body and upstairs. One of the shots opened a cut near the left eye of Gonzales, forcing referee Jonathan Romero to summon the cageside physician to check on the fighter. The doctor evaluated that it was too risky for Gonzales to continue, and the action was stopped at the 1:34 mark in Round 1.

Elsewhere, featherweight Elijah Leggett (4-0, 1-0 CW) outpointed Brandon Laroco (6-3, 1-1 CW) on all three scorecards (30-27, 30-27, 29-28); in a 207-pound catchweight match, Elijah Harris (4-1, 1-1 CW) forced Armando Murillo (4-4, 1 NC; 0-1 CW) to tap due to an arm-triangle choke from mount at 2:36 of Round 1; Reyes Cortez Jr. (6-2, 1-0 CW) outclassed James Settle (3-2, 0-1 CW) en route to a unanimous decision victory (30-26, 30-26, 30-25) at bantamweight; up-and-coming prospect Chasen Blair (2-0, 2-0 CW) demolished Kona Oliveira (1-3, 0-1 CW) with a walk-off, one-punch knockout at 39 seconds into the second period of their welterweight tilt.

On the preliminary card, 145-pounder Roberto Hernandez (4-1, 2-0 CW) smashed Michael O'Leary (2-2, 0-1 CW) with punches 2:37 into the first frame; Tyler Escoto (1-1, 1-1 CW) eked out a narrow split decision over Hakaraia Wilson (0-1, 0-1 CW) at welterweight with scores of 30-27 and 29-28 in his favor along with a 28-29 tally for Wilson; flyweight David Lopez (2-1, 1-0 CW) wrecked John Andrus (3-1, 0-1 CW) with a series of knees and punches at 3:49 of Round 1; after missing weight by 1.1 pounds ahead of the fight, William Wilson (1-0, 1-0 CW) crushed Albert Lee (1-2, 0-2 CW) with punches in their 158-pound catchweight card opener in the second round at the three-minute mark.
