Jorge Masvidal is confident that Movsar Evloev will become a UFC champion.

However, Masvidal’s prediction of Evloev being a future champ is not just based on their training sessions. The former BMF champ is pleased with Evloev’s tireless work ethic, which involves conditioning after hours of intense wrestling.
“I know Movsar long time, four years at American Top Team. Me and Movsar train a lot together,” Masvidal told Red Corner MMA. “At the time I’m like185-190 pounds and Movsar’s like 150-160. So at first we’re wrestling, I’m doing OK. But this guy just does not stop… And by the last minute my head was gonna explode beause he just doesn’t stop, and he was shooting and shooting, wrestling, wrestling, shooting, does not stop, always advancing position.
“When I went with him and I was like, ‘Man he’s able to keep that pace with me. And I’m a lot bigger and more experienced than him. This guy is scary.’ I’ve trained with him numerous times and I’ve also seen him train with some of the best in the gym. I’m telling you, this guy is gonna be champ at 145. God gave him genetics but also, this guy works harder than everybody else. Every day he does conditioning after wrestling. Two hours and a half of wrestling, then he’ll go rope, he’ll go run, he’ll go lift weights. This makes a big difference.”
A title shot has evaded Evloev so far despite an impressive resume. Diego Lopes, who lost to Evloev, got a shot at the vacant featherweight title against Alexander Volkanovski at UFC 314 this past April. After winning the belt, Volkanovski c expressed interest in defending it against Evloev. However, Evloev has since announced that he is fighting this July and not for the title. Volkanovski also said that while he expected to defend his title against Evloev, former champ Yair Rodriguez’s name is now in the mix.
