Jorge Masvidal on Conor McGregor: 'The Dude Is A F---ing G'

Jorge Masvidal’s profile has never been higher in the eyes of UFC fans than right now, after his record-breaking five second knockout of the previously undefeated Ben Askren last month at UFC 239.

Masvidal, a 17-fight UFC veteran, has flown relatively under the radar during his career. Back in March, “Gamebred” put on his most impressive performance to date with a knockout win over Darren Till in front of a rowdy London crowd. The win was a coming-out party for Masvidal but his knockout of Askren really made fans stand up and take notice.

The 34-year-old’s stock is at an all-time high and rumors have been circulating that Masvidal may be offered a fight against Irish superstar Conor McGregor.

McGregor is known for his witty trash-talk and that part of the fight game is generally something that Masvidal despises. Despite that, the American Top Team product told TMZ that he holds no ill-will towards McGregor and in fact believes the Irishman “deserves” to be paid what he’s worth (via MMAFighting.com).

“Believe me, brother, I can talk sh*t with the best of them,” Masvidal said. “I grew up in Miami, Florida. Anybody that knows me knows I can talk sh*t for days, but I don’t get paid enough to do it so I’m not gonna be flirting with dudes online. Let’s just fight, what I signed up for, and that’s it. Conor wants the fight, I want the fight, it’ll happen. If not, I don’t want anybody putting words in my mouth or nothing like that. The dude is a f*cking G, bro. He did his thing. He wants more money and he’s not getting it, who am I to blame him? I would never tell a guy, ‘You’re a b*tch for not taking a fight.’ No, he wants to get paid his money. He deserves it. I’m in the same place right now. I want an upgrade from where I’ve been at.”

McGregor has been rumored to return to the Octagon at the end of the year but has been hampered by a hand injury he suffered during a sparring session.
