Rickson Gracie will be armbarring his way to the silver screen in 2021.
Machado, the master of many including Joe Rogan, Eddie Bravo and Keanu Reeves, explained that Padilha is training with him daily to better understand better the art of BJJ. Padilha plans to show the origins of Jiu-Jitsu and the Gracie family as well. Long considered to be one of the best fighters in the world in the 1980s and 1990s, Gracie appeared at Pride FC 1 and 4, twice submitting Nobuhiko Takada with armbars.
“Padilha is studying hard the whole history and, besides Rickson, he will bring a lot of Maeda Koma,” said Machado. “He found out many similar points between Koma and Rickson. I´m really glad to see the history of the biggest hero of my generation being told to the world. I can’t wait to see this movie ready.”
Cast as the legendary Gracie is Caua Reymond, who has admitted in many interviews over the years that Gracie has always been his idol. The 39-year-old star from Brazil has appeared in numerous popular films and soap operas in his home country. Reymond was awarded his BJJ black belt from Alexandre Paiva.
