Josh Fremd KOs Bruno Oliveira in LFA 98 Main Event, Advances to Middleweight Final

One half of the Legacy Fighting Alliance middleweight tournament final is set as Josh Fremd earned a shot at the vacant title in the LFA 98 main event.

Fremd (7-1) immediately showed a strength advantage against Bruno Oliveira as he took his foe down early in Round 1. The Brazilian would work his way to the feet, which wound up being his undoing as a huge left hook from Fremd would knockout Oliveira (8-3) at the 2:37 mark. He'll now face the winner of Anthony Adams vs. Gregory Rodrigues at LFA 100 for the belt.

The night's co-main event was in the lightweight division as J.J. Okanovich faced off against Lucas Clay. It wound up being a showcase bout for Clay (7-1), who had a clear grappling advantage over "The Bosnian Bomber." While he was never able to tap Okanovich (7-2), "Cassius" impressed and picked up a unanimous decision (30-27, 29-28 and 29-28) as a result.

The first decision of the night came from a bantamweight bout between Richard Palencia and Jeimeson Saudino. A point was deducted after Saudino (9-7) suffered a low blow in Round 1, but it didn't matter as the judges preferred the work of the undefeated Palencia (9-0). After three rounds, all three judges scored it 29-27 in Palencia's favor.

Dakota Bush made a statement against Austin Clem, who missed weight for their lightweight bout. After landing a huge head kick, "Hairy" Bush (8-2) flurried away until Clem (4-2) was unable to defend himself. It only took 57 seconds for Bush to notch the second knockout of his career.

As expected, Tabatha Ricci completely dominated Vanessa Marie Grimes in their strawweight bout. Ricci (4-0) took down Grimes (1-6) early in the fight and quickly found an armbar that forced her opponent to submit just 1:07 into the fight.

Joshua Silveira, the son of mixed martial arts pioneer Marcus "Conan" Silveira, stayed perfect in his professional career against Matthew Paul. Silveira (4-0) made it look easy against Paul (3-3) as he sunk in a rear-naked choke and tapped out his opponent in just 2:46 of Round 1.

Light heavyweights Zac Pauga and Ashby Thomas kicked off the main card. The bout was all Pauga (2-0) as he controlled Thomas Thomas (1-1) in top control and eventually got a TKO stoppage from ground-and-pound. The fight was waved off at 2:21 of Round 1.

In preliminary action, Obinwa Ikebunna (2-0) submitted Daniel Olajiga (0-1) with an armbar just 58 seconds into Round 1.
