In the thrilling September main event for UFC Vancouver, betting lines have opened, putting Justin Gaethje as a significant favorite against Donald Cerrone.

On Friday, sportsbook BetOnline opened a fight line on the UFC Fight Night 158 headliner between Cerrone (36-12, 1 NC) and Gaethje (20-2). Gaethje opened as a sizable -250 favorite, against Cerrone as the +210 underdog. In essence, one would need to bet $250 on Gaethje in order to win $100, while someone betting $100 on Cerrone would make $210 -- if that respective fighter won.

"Cowboy" lost his last fight against Tony Ferguson at UFC 238 in June, when the doctors called a stop to the contest after Round 2 due to swelling around his eye. Despite the loss, the Ultimate Fighting Championship and World Extreme Cagefighting staple holds a myriad of records in the UFC, including most wins, finishes, post-fight bonuses and more. Despite wins in three of his last four outings and four of his last six, Cerrone has not closed as a betting favorite in any of his past six fights. The last time "Cowboy" closed as a betting favorite was against Darren Till in 2017, and he lost by first-round knockout.

The only time Gaethje has ever closed as a betting favorite as a UFC fighter was when he faced off against Eddie Alvarez at UFC 218 in 2017. In just five UFC fights, Gaethje has won post-fight bonuses in each of them -- a UFC first -- including multiple "Fight of the Year"-caliber bouts. He is riding a two-fight first-round knockout streak over James Vick and Edson Barboza coming into this contest. The finisher has stopped his opponent in 18 of his 20 victories, while both of his losses have come by knockout.

UFC Fight Night 158 will take place on Sept. 14 at the Rogers Arena in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Also scheduled for the card include a pair of light heavyweight tilts of Misha Cirkunov vs. Jim Crute and Glover Teixeira vs. Nikita Krylov.
