One Fighting Championship’s inaugural welterweight titlist will be crowned on Nov. 15, as Adam Shahir Kayoom battles Nobutatsu Suzuki in the One FC 12 main event.
A five-fight pro, Kayoom, 35, rides a three-fight winning streak into his title opportunity and made a successful One FC debut last year with a unanimous decision victory over Gregor Gracie. “Shogun” followed that performance with another triumph within the promotion, submitting Zuli Silawanto with a first-round rear-naked choke this past February at One FC 7.
Suzuki, meanwhile, rebounded from a December loss to former Sengoku welterweight king Keita Nakamura to stop UFC vet Phil Baroni this past May at One FC 9. The 36-year-old Japanese talent has spent the vast majority of his eight-year career competing under the Zst banner and owns all 10 of his pro victories by form of knockout.
