Keith Thurman, Manny Pacquiao Make Weight for WBA Welterweight Title Clash

Keith Thurman and Manny Pacquiao have already had a war of words ahead of their World Boxing Association welterweight title clash. The younger American made headlines by saying he will retire the Filipino boxing legend, and Saturday night will be time to settle the grudge once and for all.

Thurman (29-0, 22 KO) is the reigning WBA super world welterweight titleholder and has been perfect throughout his professional boxing career. He's picked up notable wins over the likes of Robert Guerrero, Shawn Porter and Danny Garcia. His last bout saw him return from a right elbow surgery against Josesito Lopez, and while Thurman won the bout by majority decision, it was a closer contest than most expected it to be. He'll look to show that all the ring rust is gone against Pacquiao and weighed in at a trim 146.5 pounds.

Pacquiao (61-7-2, 39 KO) has been one of the biggest names in boxing for over a decade. The pound-for-pound great has held titles all the way from flyweight to super welterweight. Since his controversial decision loss to Jeff Horn, he’s currently riding a two-fight win streak after outclassing Adrien Broner and Lucas Matthysse. The Filipino boxer looked in great shape as he easily made the welterweight limit and weighed in at 146.5 pounds.

Airing on Fox before the pay-per-view card, Caleb Plant will look to defend his International Boxing Federation super middleweight title against Mike Lee. Despite both of them being undefeated, Plant (18-0, 10 KO) is the heavy favorite as Lee (21-0, 11 KO) has never faced top competition. Lee is also moving down seven pounds as he has never fought at 168 before.

Rounding out the Fox broadcast is a battle between undefeated heavyweights. Efe Ajagba (10-0, 9 KO) is most famous for having beat Curtis Harper in just one second via disqualification after his opponent decided to exit the ring as soon as the bout began. He'll face off against Ali Eren Demirezen (11-0, 10 KO), who is fighting in America for the first time.

Before the four-bout pay-per-view card on Fox Sports and Fite.TV begins at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT, Fox will air the two intriguing undercard bouts at 7 p.m. ET/4 p.m. PT.
