Khabib Nurmagomedov, Dustin Poirier, Others React to McGregor Trial Verdict

The verdict in Conor McGregor’s civil lawsuit has incited some strong reactions from several prominent figures in the combat sports community.

The Dublin High Court on Friday found McGregor liable for the sexual assault of Nikita Hand in 2018. While Hand had claimed that McGregor and James Lawrence raped her that night, the court didn’t find Lawrence liable for sexual assault. “Notorious” has been ordered to pay 248,603.60 euros ($259,025) to Hand in damages. The former UFC two-division champ was not found guilty of any charges, as it was civil lawsuit. Breaking his silence on the topic, McGregor has vowed to appeal the decision.

Former foes Khabib Nurmagomedov and Dustin Poirier, who have never been on the best of terms with McGregor, reacted to the news.

“The Eagle” shared an ESPN article about the McGregor verdict on social media. Meanwhile, “The Diamond” reposted a fan’s tweet thanking him for knocking out McGregor in the past.

Former UFC fighter and current BKFC star Mike Perry also didn’t miss the chance to get back at McGregor. McGregor, who is a part owner of the BKFC, had previously said that Perry was fired after he lost a boxing match against Jake Paul.

The aforementioned Paul also called out McGregor while mentioning UFC CEO Dana White in a since-deleted Tweet.

“Dana hits his wife. Conor’s convicted of rape. But I’m the bad guy?” Paul wrote.

“McGregor” responded to the YouTuber-turned-boxer, although he immediately deleted the tweet as well.

“No, you're a little gay nerd,” McGregor wrote.

McGregor hasn’t fought in more than three years since breaking his leg in his trilogy loss against Poirier in July 2021. While the Irishman was scheduled to return to action against Michael Chandler at UFC 303 this past June, he pulled out due to a toe injury.
