Khama Worthy will make his Ultimate Fighting Championship debut at UFC 241 on short notice when he takes on friend and training partner Devonte Smith.

Although many are eager to make their UFC debut, Worthy knows his will be awkward. He explains that he is friends with Smith and they have known each other for quite some time now.

"I have known Devonte for like seven years. We talk to each other all the time, he was trying to get me into the UFC by posting my fights on his social media. We are friends for sure," Worthy said to Sherdog.com. "It is definitely kind of weird and I'm just trying to forget that we are friends. It is awkward as shit. Man, like it is my homie, like it is awkward having to fight him."

Given the fact that they have trained together before, Worthy knows this will be a technical fight. They know each other strengths and weaknesses, but "The Deathstar" is confident in his skills.

"I have trained with Devonte a lot, we are friends and everything. It is going to be a chess match to see who will make the first mistake. I can't let the Octagon jitters get to me," he explained. "Just go out there and do what I do best."

Before facing Smith, Worthy has another battle to get through, when he faces off against the scales. He found about the fight just five days before, and will have to cut a fair bit of weight. Despite this, he is confident he will make the lightweight mark.

"It won't be too difficult. I definitely will have to cut some decent weight. I arrived here about 19 pounds over, so 19 pounds in four-and-a-half days is not the best way to do it," he said. "But it gets me in the UFC so I'm not complaining."
