The world’s leading kickboxing promotion on Friday returned to American soil, as Glory 67 took place in Orlando, Florida.
In the co-main headliner, featherweight Asa Ten Pow looked to maintain his undefeated Glory record in a battle with Houssam El Kasri. He managed to do just that, but El Kasri (2-3, 2 KO) was more competitive on the feet than many expected. However, Ten Pow (10-1, 5 KO) still outstruck his counterpart and knocked him down once in the first round to earn a unanimous decision with 30-26 scores from all three judges.
No. 5-ranked Kevin VanNostrand made a statement in the featured attraction of the SuperFight Series portion of the card. The American upset former featherweight champion Serhii Adamchuk (38-11, 14 KO) via unanimous decision with scores of 29-28, 30-27 and 30-27. In his post-fight interview, VanNostrand (19-3, 12 KO) called for a title shot against the winner of the main event.
In other action, D’Angelo Marshall (20-4, 11 KO) soundly defeated former training partner Jahfarr Wilnis (32-12-1, 8 KO) via unanimous decision, drawing 29-28 marks across the board; lightweight Elvis Gashi (23-0, 11 KO) made his case for a title shot by knocking out Justin Houghton with a body kick just 23 seconds into Round 1; undefeated prospect Abraham Vidales (14-0, 11 KO) stayed perfect, as he dominated Trevor Ragin (7-6, 3 KO) to a unanimous 30-27 decision on all three scorecards; Rebekah Irwin (6-2, 1 KO) kept her status as a super bantamweight prospect to watch, as she defeated Taylor Jenkins (0-1) via unanimous decision, earning 30-27 scores from all three judges; Peter Stanonik (7-0, 4 KO) managed to drop Vince McGuinness (1-3, 1 KO) once and cruised to a decision victory with unanimous 30-26 cards from the judges; Ross Levine (3-0, 3 KO) needed only 43 seconds to finish off Thomas Diagne (10-4) with a high kick; Keemaan Diop (3-1, 2 KO) proved too much for John Morehouse (10-9), as he won a clear-cut unanimous decision with 30-27 scores from all three judges; Nick Chasteen (10-4) dominated Javanis Ross (0-1) and wound up winning via second-round TKO after his opponent could not continue after injuring his leg; and Taylor Krahl (6-2, 5 KO) defeated Paul Banasiak (10-6, 7 KO) via majority decision: 29-27, 28-27, 28-28.
