‘King Mo’ Lawal Withdraws From Bellator 185 Co-Headliner With Liam McGeary Due to Injury

Less than three weeks out from Bellator 185, the card has lost half of its co-main event.

Muhammed “King Mo” Lawal has pulled up his slated Bellator 185 bout with former promotional light heavyweight champion Liam McGeary due to a knee injury. MMAJunkie was first to report the withdrawal on Monday.

Bellator 185 is scheduled for Oct. 20 at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn., headlined by Gegard Mousasi's debut in the promotion, facing former Bellator middleweight champion Alexander Shlemenko.

The 36-year-old Lawal has had a history of injury issues, most notably knee problems that have required several surgeries. More recently, Lawal pulled out of a proposed bout with Ryan Bader at Bellator 180 in June due to injury. “King Mo” last saw action in March, picking up a win via unanimous decision in a rematch with Quinton “Rampage” Jackson at Bellator 175.

McGeary will reportedly stay on the card with Bellator MMA actively seeking a replacement to face the Brit.
