Heavyweight Konstantin Erokhin failed a pre-fight drug test ahead of his loss to Gabriel Gonzaga at “The Ultimate Fighter 22” finale on Dec. 11.
Erokhin, who lost a lackluster unanimous decision to Gonzaga, tested positive for the anabolic steroid drostanolone, according to a report from MMAFighting.com . The test was given by the NAC, not USADA, and was sent to Quest Diagnostics. The 34-year-old Russian will face a disciplinary hearing at a later date. After losing both of his Octagon appearances, Erokhin was one of 11 fighters released by the Las Vegas-based promotion late last month.
The NAC also provided drug tests results from UFC Fight Night “Namajunas vs. VanZant” on Dec. 10 and UFC 194 on Dec. 12. All tests from both events came back negative, including UFC 194 headliners Conor McGregor and Jose Aldo.
