Houston-based Legacy Fighting Alliance is set to take full control of Grady Cole Center in Charlotte, North Carolina, on Friday night as the promotion’s inaugural lightweight champion will be crowned. Thiago Moises will lock horns with Robert Watley for the crown and at Thursday’s official weigh-ins, the combatants came in on target.
The LFA 17 co-feature will see Keith Richardson take on Tony Gravely in a 140-pound catchweight battle. Richardson, from Team Alpha Male, took the fight on two days’ notice when Dylan Cala pulled out and came in at 140 pounds. Gravely, meanwhile, checked in at 139.8 pounds.
The anticipated brawl between Alexa Conners and Talita de Oliveira was scratched in the hours before the weigh-ins due to Conners having a difficult weight cut. The women didn’t weigh in as Conners fell ill and had to withdraw from the bout.
LFA 17 will be televised live on AXS TV Friday night beginning at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT.
