Legacy 14 Gets Jorge Patino-Jeff Rexroad Title Headliner, NCAA Wrestling Champ Darrion Caldwell

Thirteen fights have been booked for Legacy Fighting Championship 14, including a welterweight title headliner between reigning champion Jorge Patino and challenger Jeff Rexroad.

Sherdog.com confirmed the bout Thursday with Legacy promoter Mick Maynard, who also verified that former NCAA Division I national champion wrestler Darrion Caldwell will make his pro debut at the event, taking on eight-fight vet Nate Garza in a featherweight tilt. LFC 14 is expected to take place Sept. 14 at Houston's Arena Theater and air live on AXS TV.

Also featured on the evening's main card will be flyweight prospect Dustin Ortiz, as the former Tachi Palace Fights talent squares off with unbeaten Rafael de Freitas. Additionally, two more undefeated fighters will compete on the televised draw, as Justin Ledet locks horns with onetime IFL competitor Matt Thompson at light heavyweight, and Alan Nascimento meets Cody Williams in a 135-pound showdown.

Meanwhile, Matt Schnell, one of the characters featured on the MTV reality show “Caged,” competes for the first time as a pro, taking on fellow debutant Ryan Hollis. Rounding out the main card will be a pair of welterweight confrontations pitting 10-fight pro Brandan Farran against Chute Boxe product Leandro Silva and two-time Legacy vet Lester Batres against fellow Texan Jonathan Harris.
