Legacy FC 46 Weigh-in Results: Peterson, Rivera Both on Weight … Kind of

By Mike Sloan Oct 2, 2015
The weigh-ins for Friday’s Legacy Fighting Championship 46 was loaded with fighters not making weight. Though the main card combatants weren’t all heavy, a sizeable chunk of them were. Headlined by the bantamweight tilt between Steven Peterson and Irwin Rivera, Legacy FC 46 is expected to be an excellent card regardless of challenging Thursdays weigh-ins were.

Relative MMA newcomer Irwin Rivera stepped onto the scale for his main event fight but was initially over the 135-pound limit coming in officially at 136.25 pounds. After stripping down to his birthday suit to make the 136-pound allowance, he still came in at 136.1, though Steven Peterson’s camp said it was OK and to, “just say it’s 135.” Peterson, on the flip side, weighed in at 135.75 pounds.

Jiu jitsu wizard Rafael Lovato Jr. looks to continue his MMA career when he takes on Kevin Holland in a middleweight encounter. Lovato Jr. tipped the scale at 185.5 pounds while Holland was equally on point; he came in a pound lighter.

Jason Sampson and Archie Lowe are slated to meet at a 130-pound catchweight but Lowe was horribly over. While Sampson checked in at 131 pounds, Lowe was way heavy at 134.75.

Other fighters on the main card that missed weight were Victor Reyna, Jacob Norsworthy and Levi Mowles, making it five total fighters who were over.

Legacy FC 46 will be held inside the Allen Event Center in Allen, Texas. It will be televised live on AXS TV beginning at 10 p.m. ET/7 p.m. PT.
