UFC officials announced on Thursday that the bout will be the first female 125-pound affair contested inside the Octagon. Both Letourneau and Calderwood normally compete at strawweight, but it is unclear if the UFC is going to add the women’s flyweight division on a permanent basis.

UFC Fight Night takes place on June 18 at the TD Place in Ottawa, Ontario Canada and is headlined by a welterweight showdown between Rory MacDonald and Stephen Thompson. The evening’s main card will air on Fox Sports 1.

Letourneau, 32, has struggle to make the 115-pound limit in the past. The Montreal native is coming off a five-round defeat at the hands of reigning strawweight queen Joanna Jedrzejczyk at UFC 193 this past November. “Trouble” began her Octagon tenure with successive triumphs over Maryna Moroz, Jessica Rakoczy and Elizabeth Phillips.

Calderwood rebounded from the first loss of her 11-fight pro career at UFC Fight Night in Scotland last July, as she took a unanimous verdict over Cortney Casey. The 29-year-old Glasgow native has won two of her three Octagon appearances.
