A week ago, Bellator 185, lost half of its co-main event. Now, the entire fight is up in smoke.

On Oct. 2, Bellator MMA announced that Muhammed “King Mo” Lawal had withdrawn from his scheduled bout with former promotional light heavyweight champion Liam McGeary due to a knee injury. Days later, Lawal was replaced by Ultimate Fighting Championship veteran Bubba McDaniel. Now, the bout has been nixed all together as McGeary has now pulled out of the contest due to injury.

MMAJunkie was first to report McGeary’s scrape and the fight’s dissolution. The nature of the British fighter’s injury was not disclosed.

Bellator 185 is scheduled for Oct. 20 at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn. In the evening’s headliner, UFC veteran and recent Bellator acquisition Gegard Mousasi makes his promotional debut against former Bellator middleweight champion Alexander Shlemenko.

With the subtraction of McGeary’s bout with McDaniel, a welterweight contest between David Rickels and Brennan Ward figures to move into the co-main event position for the televised portion of the event, which airs live on Spike.
