"Josh Silveira is the top 205-pound prospect in the sport,” LFA CEO Ed Soares said. “He was originally set to face Jesse Murray for the LFA light-heavyweight title in the main event of LFA 110 on July 2nd, but Murray withdrew with an injury. Murray has now withdrawn from the re-scheduled title fight, so Silveira will be facing a new opponent for the title on Sept. 24. The new challenger will be announced as soon as the new title fight is finalized.”
Anchored at American Top Team, where he trains under his father, Conan Silveira, Josh Silveira has kicked off his professional career with five consective victories — including three under the LFA banner. Most recently, the 28-year-old tapped out Rafael Viana with a rear-naked choke in 41 seconds at LFA 106 on April 30. All five of his victories have come inside the distance.
Four other bouts have been confirmed for LFA 115: Chad Johnson vs. Jordan Heiderman at heavyweight; Edwin Cooper Jr. vs. Max Fuentes at featherweight; Bryan Bautista vs. Mando Gutierrez at bantamweight and Roland Dunlap vs. Branko Busick at middleweight.
