Light Heavyweight Title Tilt to Headline Legacy Fighting Alliance Debut in Iowa on Feb. 15
A light heavyweight championship clash pitting Julius
Anglickas against Clayton
York will headline Legacy Fighting Alliance’s inaugural visit
to the Hawkeye State.
LFA 60 takes place at the 7 Flags Event Center in Clive, Iowa on Feb. 15 and will see Anthony Baccam square off against Trey Ogden in the lightweight co-main event. The main card airs on AXS-TV at 10 p.m. ET/7 p.m. PT. The LFA 205-pound belt was vacated when Ryan Spann signed with the UFC.
"Iowa has a long history in MMA and wrestling so it has some of the
most educated and passionate fans in the sport,” LFA CEO Ed Soares
said in a release. “We came to Iowa as RFA in October 2013 and many
of those fighters went on to become stars in the sport. Four were
signed by the UFC and another four went to Bellator. We look
forward to producing the next generation of MMA stars when we
return with a light heavyweight title fight at LFA 60.”
Four other contests round out the evening’s main draw: Jordin Hinman vs. Dakota Bush at lightweight; Jonathon Thomson vs. Darrius Flowers at welterweight; Luis Saldana vs. Carl Wittstock at featherweight and Patrick Martin vs. Brian Peterson at heavyweight.
Anglickas, a 27-year-old native of Lithuania, made his promotional debut last June, submitting Erick Murray in the third round of their bout at LFA 42. A former football player at Oregon State University, York is unbeaten thus far in his burgeoning MMA career, finishing all but one of his victories inside the distance.
