Light Heavyweights Jonathan Wilson, Luiz Henrique da Silva to Clash at UFC 199

A battle of unbeaten light heavyweights is set for UFC 199, as Jonathan Wilson will take on Luiz Henrique da Silva on June 4.

Promotion officials recently announced the bout. UFC 199 takes place at the Forum in Los Angeles and is headlined by a middleweight title rematch between Luke Rockhold and Chris Weidman. In the co-main event, Dominick Cruz defends the bantamweight strap against Urijah Faber.

A lightweight clash between Dong Hyun Kim and Marco Polo Reyes was also announced for the the June 4 event.

Wilson earned his seventh professional victory in his promotional debut at UFC Fight Night Nashville last August, knocking out Chris Dempsey in 50 seconds. “Johnny Bravo” has earned all but one of his triumphs inside the distance.

A 26-year-old native of Benevides, Para, Brazil, da Silva has finished each of his first 10 opponents by knockout or technical knockout, including eight inside of a round. Most recently, “Frankenstein” stopped former UFC talent Ildemar Alcantara via second-round TKO at The King of the Jungle Championship 2 in Brazil on Jan. 14.
