Lightweights Al Iaquinta, Paul Felder Bolster UFC 218 Lineup on Dec. 2 in Detroit

Serra-Longo Fight Team standout Al Iaquinta will put his five-fight winning streak on the line when he faces former Cage Fury Fighting Championships titleholder Paul Felder in a UFC 218 lightweight showcase on Dec. 2 at Little Caesars Arena in Detroit. Ultimate Fighting Championship officials on Friday announced the pairing, which buoys a card headlined by a featherweight title bout between champion Max Holloway and No. 1 contender Frankie Edgar.

Iaquinta was a finalist on Season 15 of “The Ultimate Fighter” and owns an 8-2 record in the UFC. The 30-year-old Wantagh, New York, native last competed in April, when he cut down Diego Sanchez with punches in just 98 seconds at UFC Fight Night 108. A protégé of former welterweight champion Matt Serra and striking guru Ray Longo, Iaquinta holds other notable victories against Jorge Masvidal, Joe Lauzon and Kevin Lee.

Now anchored at the Roufusport camp in Milwaukee, Felder has rattled off back-to-back wins since his technical knockout loss to Francisco Trinaldo a little more than a year ago. He last appeared at UFC Fight Night 113 on July 16, when he knocked out Steven Ray with a volley of first-round elbows at the SSE Hydro in Glasgow, Scotland. Felder, 33, has compiled a 6-3 mark since he joined the UFC roster in 2014.
