Louis Glismann Submits Henri Lintula, Mokaev Dominates in Pro Debut at Brave CF 37

Louis Glismann showcased his jiu-jitsu skills against Henri Lintula in the Brave Combat Federation 37 main event in Stockholm, Sweden.

Glismann (7-1) made a statement in his previous fight when he made UFC veteran Craig White verbally submit in their encounter at Cage Warriors “Unplugged 2” in September 2019. On Saturday, he proved once again that his Brazilian jiu-jitsu skills are superior to most of his opponents, including the previously unbeaten Lintula (5-1). "Spartacus" dominated the welterweight bout in the opening stanza, both on the feet and on the ground. That continued into the second round, when Glismann took Lintula down, moved to his opponent’s back and locked in a rear-naked choke. The submission attempt proved to the successful and Lintula tapped at the 1:30 mark. Glismann, who has won seven consecutive bouts, asked for a title shot in the post-fight interview.

In the co-main event, Irman Smajic (3-0) and Fatih Aktas (5-4) collided in the heavyweight division. Smajic took advantage of his experience as an amateur fighter and showed off all his wrestling skills against the dangerous striking of Aktas. "The People's Champ" perfectly executed a gameplan that pinned Aktas with his back against the mat for all three rounds. Eventually, all three judges rewarded Smajic with a unanimous decision victory — the first time he has gone the distance in his professional career.

The most anticipated fight on the card was a catchweight clash between Muhammad Mokaev and Glenn McVeigh, who took the fight on just three days' notice. Mokaev didn't disappoint in his professional debut, which came after 23 consecutive amateur victories. The Dagestani fighter completely dominated his opponent for all three rounds, particularly in a second stanza that saw almost no offense at all from McVeigh. In the third round, "The Punisher" landed a brutal elbow on his Northern Irish opponent, who somehow managed to survive to hear the judges' scorecards. Nonetheless, Mokaev took home an impressive unanimous decision victory.

Elsewhere, Anton Turkalj (5-0) earned a relatively easy technical knockout victory over Athanasios Herkeletzis (3-2) 1:15 into the first round of a 220-pound catchweight bout. In a featherweight clash, Fernando Flores (7-7) submitted Michael Deiga Scheck (7-4) thanks to a brabo choke at the 4:51 mark of the opening stanza. Bianca Antman (1-0) made a statement in her pro debut after scoring a highlight-reel head kick KO of Veela Nykanen (2-3) 1:37 into Round 3.

Earlier, Hamid Sadid (1-0) smashed Sayyed Masoud Derekeh (0-1) via TKO 1:37 into the opening stanza, and Mohamed Zarey (1-0) overcame Ahouzi Kouame thanks to a first-round heel hook.
