Louis Smolka, Jose Quinonez Rebooked for UFC on ESPN 19 on Dec. 5
A bantamweight showdown pitting Louis Smolka against Jose Alberto Quinonez has been rebooked for UFC on ESPN 19.
Milenio was first to report the bout. Smolka and Quinonez were
originally slated to meet at UFC Fight Night 182 on Nov. 14, but
the bout was called off when Smolka was deemed medically unfit to
compete after weighing in at 139 pounds one day prior.
UFC on ESPN 19 takes place at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas and is headlined by a middleweight tilt between Jack Hermansson and Kevin Holland.
Smolka will be competing for the second time in 2020 after losing to Casey Kenney via first-round submission at UFC on ESPN 9 on May 30. The 29-year-old Hawaiian is 2-2 during his second promotional stint, earning victories over Ryan MacDonald and Su Madaerji.
Quinonez last appeared at UFC 248, where he suffered a first-round technical knockout loss to Sean O’Malley on March 7. Prior to that defeat, the 30-year-old Mexican had been victorious in five of his previous six UFC bouts.
